Well it’s the time each year when I attempt to resurrect my blog. Except for last year, there were just too many things last year. Hopefully one of these years I will be able to do this on a regular basis and meet one of my life goals.
Let’s talk about resolutions. I have spent the last several years not making any. I have decided this is a huge mistake. Originally, I felt like they just set me up for failure and to be disappointed in myself. However, what I have discovered it that it causes me (or gives me permission) to accomplish nothing on my important things to me list. I get the important “needs to be done” things accomplished, but the things that are meaningful to me go undone. This makes me cranky, and no one wants to live with cranky.
This has prompted a thought. You shouldn’t make New Year resolutions coming off of the holiday frenzy. You need to take time to calm down and think things through. The month of January is the perfect time to do that. Reflect on the past year, ask yourself – what should I change and what should stay the same. Ask yourself what did I do that I would like to do again? What didn’t I do but really wanted to? How can I make this happen? This is what I have been doing with my January. I would love to hear your thoughts. If I stick to one of my resolutions (hint), I will be back in a week to share some of mine.
