The one constant in life is there is nothing constant on this earth. I need to remind myself everyday, as I am consistently inconsistent everyday. Yes the earth spins each day and the sun rises and sets, but at a different time each day. There are 365 days in a year, except during leap year.
And so it has been with my blog. Each New Year I vow to blog on a set day and a set number of times each week and every single year I consistently do not! Hence now it is February 2023 and I am revising my resolution from all previous years to inconsistently blog this year when the spirit moves me. Or let’s be real, real – when I want to, or think about it, or get a half a second of free thought time.
So here I am, near the middle of my least favorite month of the year, doing one of my most favorite things – writing. And while I don’t subscribe to resolutions, or ways to make you feel bad about not doing what you say you are going to do, I am going to make a promise to myself to try to make more time to spend time doing this thing that I love.
I would like to challenge you to do the same. What is that one dusty, rusty, activity that makes you feel good deep down and yet you fail yourself at making time for it? Make a promise to yourself, not God, not your other person, not your best friend, not the universe- TO YOURSELF- to make time at least once a week, more if you can, to spend at least 15 minutes doing that thing – that thing that makes you feel good deep, deep down. It’s who you really are and it will help you be the best version of you.
I bid you goodbye, until my next inconsistent blog day.
